District-wide we are implementing the Second Step curriculum to better teach social skills to our special education students. This website has many great tools to help us do this including webinars and additional support for teachers using this curriculum.

I am not usually one to focus on the disability but our population of students with attachment issues has grown significantly over the past 10 years. You have to word things differently with them--try not to over praise while teaching positive ways to attach to others. This article gives some great tips and tools!
