Sonia Kovalevsky Day

In the morning, students attended two workshops on the application of mathematics and computer science in real world settings. The presentations were followed by a problem solving contest with teams comprised of one to three students from each school. While students were involved in these activities, mathematics teachers also attend two workshops.

The afternoon consisted of a panel discussion hosted by women working in a variety of positions which require a mathematics or computer science background.  The day ended with the presentation of participation awards, prizes for the problem solving contest, and door prizes.
