We encourage students to express themselves often but then tell them they are doing in incorrectly or inappropriately. Why not provide them a visual reminder of what to say instead? As a parent, I often find myself saying (or yelling ) the same familiar lines so I hung a visual reminder of positive phrases to use when my children are acting up. I look at it every time I do laundry--I read them, think about it them and practice them. This is exactly the process we want our student to do so try providing that visual like Mrs. Bliss did in her classroom at Sterling Elementary!
