Ms. Dunn thought back to the 70's with the classic pet rock and incorporated this into her 1st grade classroom at Maple Grove. A simple rock with a fun, made-up name can help unite an entire class! To inspire them further and keep the noise-level down, she created a quick visual incentive. They all start out with the ten frame full of dots. When talking during lessons, or inappropriate times they lose a dot. Table with most dots at the end of day get a piece of gum or mint. Easy, simple yet motivating!
