Classes Begin Thursday, August 25th


16-17 Early Dismissal Days: September 14, 21, 28, October 5, 12, 19, November 2, 9, 16, 30, December 7,14, January 13, January 11, 25, February 1, 8, 15, March 1, 8, 15, 29, April 5, 19, May 10, 17.

New Students  Any child whose fifth birthday occurs before the first day of August shall be admitted to kindergarten. Any child whose sixth birthday occurs before the first day of August shall be admitted to first grade. To register, kindergarten children and all pupils new to the district must bring their birth certificates, social security numbers, immunization records and proofs of residency to the schools they will be attending.

Adventure Club (School Age Child Care)  Child care is available for students K-5th grade before and after school at Sterling Elementary. The before school program meets from 6:00-8:15 am and the after school program meets from 3:20-6:00 pm every school day. For more information visit the Adventure Club Webpage.

They include Certified Nurse Assistant, Certified Medication Technician, Insulin Administration and IV Therapy. All Courses are approved by the Missouri State Department of Education, Missouri State Board of Nursing and Missouri State Board of Cosmetology.

AIM PROGRAM:

This program is the out of school suspension room. It is utilized by local school districts as behavioral suspensions are assigned. It serves students in 6th

through 12th grades. The students are assigned by their original school to provide an opportunity to gain school credit and complete work while suspended.

PARENT-STUDENT ORIENTATION

GATEWAY ALTERNATIVE SCHOOL:

Students from the following high schools are eligible: Knob Noster, Crest Ridge, Holden, and Warrensburg. The student must apply with their counselors at the original

school and begin the process. Students that attend Gateway need a different approach to education with more one-to-one from staff, smaller class sizes and student population, and an emphasis on community outreach. Students can earn up to five credits per semester.
